Our Story.

It all started on a Honeymoon in Mexico, where Danes Thomas and Malene stayed on a beautiful boutique hotel. They immediately fell in love with the low key luxury hotel experience and the idea of running such a small peace of heaven them selves.

Years later, during a visit to Cabrera with their small children Anna and August, they fell in love with the tranquility, lush vegetation, friendly people, fresh tropical colors and great beaches of the area.

They decided that this was the place they would live out their dream and start the family project of Catalina Tropical Lodge.
